Are you ready to bring your skills to a team that transforms patient experiences? Join our Primary Care & Rural Medicine team and play a crucial role in our outpatient primary care clinic. As a Medical Receptionist I, you'll be the first point of contact for patients and visitors in the clinic. You will contribute to a positive and efficient clinic environment by scheduling appointments, routing calls to clinical staff and handling front desk tasks including data entry into the Electronic Management System (EHS) and billing/insurance processing and inquiries.

What you need to know

  • Salary: Starting at $16.70/hr for Medical Receptionist I.

  • Schedule: Full-time, 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday, with occasional extended hours

    Minimum Required Qualifications

Medical Receptionist I: High school diploma or equivalent, and two years of experience in medical office, hospital, nursing home, or home health setting.

The well-qualified candidate should also possess two years of experience in general office or personnel operations including one year experience working within a medical office. Prior experience and familiarity with Electronic Medical Record Systems is preferred. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Some of the Responsibilities Include:

  • Patient Phone Calls: Handle phone calls from patients who need to schedule appointments to include adding new patients, verifying demographic information and insurance. Route calls to clinical staff and enter phone notes as appropriate.

  • Check-in Patients: Verify patient demographic information, collect co-pays and past-due balances, work patient waitlist, verify insurance, register patients for portal, check patients in/out. Scan insurance cards and IDs. Assist patients with kiosk.

  • Billing Support: Correct denied claims due to registration errors, contact patients related to upcoming visits, schedule patient for wellness visits, input demographics for hospital billers.
