Job Description

Here is your chance to make a difference! You will be deeply involved in the continuous transformation of the manufacturing systems and capabilities needed to deliver enhanced play experiences through new digital components complementing the traditional LEGO® System in Play.

Core Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategic Development

  • Co-create future strategic direction for developing and expanding the Process Engineering team and its capabilities for future new product introductions as well as managing the growing released product portfolio.

  • Establish solid operational, tactical, and strategic business processes to ensure further consolidation of the Process Engineering department, as well as tight links with internal and external collaborative partners.

  • Work with Manufacturing colleagues in the electronics Operations leadership team to reach optimized electronics manufacturing processes realizing the Operations Plans.

Project Management & Novelty Execution

  • Work closely with Product Design teams, and Electronics Manufacturing to ensure seamless manufacturing process execution with close eye for DfX principles and readiness level for introduction to manufacturing sites according to the Tech Element Development Methodology (TDP)

  • Ensure high performance in manufacturing process introduction (with special attention to functional test processes) and manufacturing implementation at electronics manufacturing sites (internal and external) including high discipline in milestone adherence and quality in technical process-specific activities and deliverables.

  • Closely monitor and lead ramp-up and yield optimization of new product introductions to mass manufacturing with close eye for test and validation strategies.

Manufacturing Process Standards & Optimization

  • Drive continuous manufacturing process enhancements to improve operational efficiency and scalability in close collaboration with electronics manufacturing sites (internal and external)

  • Proactively resolve conflicts related to timelines, budgets, and change requests.

  • Monitor equipment supplier deliveries and electronics manufacturing sites (internal and external) OEE performance to ensure highest possible efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Own and maintain manufacturing specifications and standards for electronics production in close collaboration with electronics manufacturing sites (internal and external)

  • Be familiar with line balancing methodologies to support highest OEE efficiencies

Manufacturing Footprint & Supply Chain Resilience

  • Participate in the electronics OPS leadership team to the industrial capacity plans on global level (both internal and external)

  • Develop and strengthen internal process capabilities for electronics manufacturing and mitigate risks in high-tech product portfolios to ensure manufacturing resilience.

  • Lead the development of fit-for-purpose manufacturing platforms that align with long-term business strategy.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously strive for achieving important cost-reduction initiatives on both process level (while challenge product design effectiveness) and manufacturing system level without compromising quality.

The Process Engineering organization is to build robust connections between the design team and the electronics manufacturing sites (internal and external). This area not only facilitates the introduction of new products by developing necessary manufacturing systems but also manages and supports the existing Tech Element portfolio in mass production.

The organization actively collaborates with electronics manufacturing sites (internal and external) and key component suppliers hereby working with the relevant internal stakeholders.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Substantial experience in the consumer electronics industry, managing complex engineering projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of consumer electronics manufacturing processes, including IPC standards and test platform technologies.

  • Proven experience in product development or manufacturing equipment development projects in industries demanding high process discipline, such as medical, automotive, and aerospace.

  • Strong expertise in DfX methodology, particularly Design for Manufacturing (DfM), with the ability to translate product design into efficient manufacturing processes.

  • Extensive experience working with EMS partners, focusing on joint development of process technologies, project launches (NPI), and yield optimization.

  • Extensive senior leadership experience, in managing technology-based functional areas., including leading leaders

  • Demonstrated strategic approach and capability to transform organizations in terms of capabilities and operational methodologies.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, primarily to Asia and within Europe.
