Job Description
The Network Engineer is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, supporting and managing data and voice networks to included wired and wireless infrastructure critical to day to day operations. Daily services include the configuration, administration, support and maintenance of switches, routers and wireless equipment as well as other network infrastructure and application components. Systems include: network switching and routing, wireless network security, IP based telephone systems, DNS/DHCP, Internet gateways or any other network related systems required by Kaleida Health and affiliated businesses. This role ensures that network and collaboration systems maintain maximum uptime and are being supported with an emphasis on stability and reliability.
Education And Credentials
High School diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree in network administration, information technology, or computer science is preferred. Additional certifications preferred, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)EN/DC/CL, Network+. Retain familiarity with various network types including LANs, WANs, WLANs, SANs, and VoIP networks. Increase job knowledge through continuing education and professional development opportunities, attend conferences, and read professional industry publications.
Experience
5 years of experience in IT, network administrator, or network engineer positions, less with advanced experience and BS degree required.
