CARDINAL METALWORKS INC Grinder Operator in BURGAW, North Carolina
Role and Responsibilities
Observe and follow all safety policies and procedures in compliance with the organizational rules, while seeking continuous improvement. Responsible for his/her safety as well as that of his/her colleagues.
Grind, polish and/or finishes various sizes of battery and mine trays.
Studies blueprints, work orders, or machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences.
Operates the rough and finish grinders through use of the production schedule and communication with shift supervisor.
Actively supports all Cardinal Metalworks activities, i.e. failure analysis etc.
Supports all job functions by being cross trained in each area.
Familiarity with ISO standards and requirements.
Exercises independent judgment as needed.
Set up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal work pieces.
Lift and position work pieces, manually or with hoists.
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience in the use of power tools such as electric or pneumatic grinders, buffing wheels, stroke sanders, and other methods of metal finishing are necessary. Able to follow quality standards on a consistent basis. Attentiveness, focus, strength and stamina are key traits needed for this process.
Preferred Skills
Ability to read blueprints
Welding experience
A strong work ethic and ability to work independently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
