Interested in joining a fast-paced work environment filled with caring professionals dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable community members experiencing behavioral health and/or substance use disorders? The Nevada County Behavioral Health Department is looking for four Behavioral Health Workers to support client success!

We are currently seeking Behavioral Health Workers (BHWs) for the following programs and services. Please be sure to apply for all levels (BHW I, II, and III) which you may be qualified for.

  • One BHW to support our Forensic program by engaging with and providing case management for forensically involved clients with behavioral and/or substance use disorders to facilitate engagement in recovery, to avoid further arrest and reduce recidivism.

  • One housing-focused BHW to bridge between NCBH, our housing partners at AMIH, as well as other community partners and/or landlords. This team member will provide administrative support through the process of finding, securing, and funding housing, and any associated record keeping.

  • One BHW providing case management for Adult BH clients and linking them to services within the community. This staff member will work with clients to develop care plans, goal setting and skill development to achieve those goals.

  • One BHW supporting our Children's BH team providing treatment, rehabilitative and case management services to children and youth. Rehabilitative Services include community integration skills, communication skills, social skills groups, recreation skills groups, and independent living skills.

Our Behavioral Health Workers provide the following support to clients and community members:

  • Engagement: develop positive, strengths-based relationships with individuals with behavioral health needs and/or substance use disorders.

  • Case Management: link, monitor, and coordinate the development of personalized resources for individuals to facilitate engagement in recovery. Support client adherence to care plans that contain individualized goals and interventions.

  • Collaboration: Meet and communicate regularly with the law enforcement and court partners, mental health & substance use agencies, housing, and other community partners.

The ideal candidate for this position will perform well in teams but also be capable of independent work. We are looking for a strengths-based individual who is optimistic in their belief in the capacity of people to make positive changes in their lives, and has some understanding of or lived experience.

Our full-time staff members enjoy an extensive benefit package including but not limited to a generous leave program, 11 standard holidays and 2 floating holidays, CalPERS retirement, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent care expenses, and a deferred compensation plan including 401(a), 457(b) and Roth options. We also offer a tuition reimbursement program, flexible schedules, and even a telework option, depending on program needs!

We thrive on transparent and ongoing communication through employee newsletters, social media and hosted sites. We strive to be the best version of ourselves through continuous improvement.
