Philips Software Development Engineer in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Software Development Engineer (Cambridge, MA)

Work as a Software Engineer in the Hospital Patient Monitoring Team, and you will be working in an Agile environment responsible for designing, developing, and testing software for our new Real-time Patient Monitoring platform using technologies including .NET Framework, C#, React, GraphQL, Postgres, Kafka, and Kubernetes. Your role:

  • Develop software in a highly motivated software development team focused on the creation of our next generation patient monitoring systems.

  • Translate user requirements into innovative solutions using the latest technology.

  • Write clear specifications, create detailed technical designs, and implement creative software solutions.

  • Review code and provide technical feedback and direction.

  • Design and develop software components considering elasticity, scalability, reliability, interoperability, security, serviceability & networking needs.

  • Deliver software modules and components meeting the requirements, quality standards, and timelines.

  • Show exceptional teamwork to meet commitments to our customers.

You're the right fit if:

  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 2+ years of experience with Object-Oriented Programming and Design, C#, and .NET/Java microservices, Web Services, and Relational databases.

  • Experience with: React, GraphQL, Kafka, and Kubernetes, PostgreSQL/SQL Server Performance tunning

  • Ability to work within a cross-functional team in an Agile development cycle focused on Designing and developing code on an agile team of Engineers using Continuous Integration/Continuous deployment technologies such as Azure and GitHub.

  • Understanding of design patterns and practical experience in applying those patterns to address fundamental challenges in large-scale, mission-critical system development and influencing software engineering best practices within the team.
