Job Description

Position Title: Graphic Designer Co-op

Duration: 4 months (January – April)

Location: Cambridge, ON (Hybrid - primarily remote)

Range: 19.70 – 24.00

Job Summary:

This creative individual will be a multi-talented graphic designer with some experience in photography and videography. You will be responsible for developing the visual aspects of digital and traditional marketing and communications materials, working collaboratively with the senior graphic designer and marketing team. You will have a strong visual sense and flair, which you will apply to your work to produce materials with strong visual impact. You will also employ experimental techniques to determine what our audience responds best to.

Additional Information

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design various marketing, communication and promotional materials, which includes brochures, online and offline advertisements, icons, imagery/photos, posters, tradeshow booths, social media, case studies, presentations, e-newsletters, website and email banners, articles, whitepapers, blogs, sell sheets, guides, etc.

  • Assist in photographing and filming videos of our automation projects, in progress and at completion, some to be used for sales and marketing purposes and others for project archives

  • Create short feature videos for social media, websites, trade shows, etc.

  • Create and/or edit graphics and photos, source necessary imagery from stock imagery websites that complement the written content

  • Adhere to corporate brand guidelines and enforce brand image consistency

  • Upload, organize, tag and maintain a digital asset library of all graphics using our digital asset management system

  • Proficient in creating and editing both print and digital media

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on project concepts as necessary

    Education:

  • Working towards a post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in graphic or digital media design

Required Skills

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with an ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite – specifically with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro (After Effects would be a bonus)

  • Experience with photography / videography equipment and video editing

  • Interest in learning new software to upgrade skills (bonus if you know Blender)

  • Comfortable actively seeking out feedback from senior graphic designer and other stakeholders, practices self-critique, with an ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism

  • Passion for digital and print layout, design, and production

  • Self-starter and independent worker
