DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Food Service Instructor at SCI Camp Hill, you will lead the inmates through on-the-job vocational training in food service operations. You can expect to provide instruction to inmates by assigning, participating in, and reviewing routine and specialized tasks performed by inmates in the areas of preparation, production, service, and baking. In this position, you will enforce custody and security regulations to ensure proper control over inmates. Additionally, you inspect all food service areas, equipment, and food to ensure everything meets the established safety and sanitation standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week This is shift work with rotating days off. Shifts are awarded based on bidding and seniority. Work hours include a paid lunch period and are to be determined from the following shifts: 4:30 AM to 12:30 PM 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,753.00. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements: You must successfully complete basic training in Elizabethtown, PA. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
