Verndale Full Stack Developer in Canada - Remote, Quebec

Yaksa is now a part of Verndale!  https://www.yaksa.ca/en/ About the Full Stack Developer Position The Full Stack Engineer is responsible for crafting robust, scalable, and innovative solutions across the entire web development spectrum. Full Stack Engineers are adept at seamlessly integrating frontend and backend technologies to deliver efficient user experiences and drive business growth. This role requires a deep understanding front end standards, as well as proficiency in backend frameworks, content management systems and databases. The full stack developer should have strong skills in both front-end and back-end development. On the front end, they need proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React and/or Vue. On the back end, they should be skilled in C#, .NET framework, and ASP.NET for building robust applications. Knowledge of databases (SQL Server), web services and APIs is also essential for a well-rounded skill set. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy high-quality web applications and features.

  • Implement scalable backend solutions using modern frameworks, content managements systems and technologies.

  • Develop clean, efficient, and responsive frontend code, ensuring compatibility across various browsers and devices based on prototypes, designs and functional documentation.

  • Implement complex features and modules, providing guidance and support to junior team members when needed.

  • Drive best practices in code quality, testing, and performance optimization.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating them into our development processes.

  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy discussions.

  • Manage multiple projects and responsibilities in a fast paced environment.

  • Work closely with, both, front end and back end teams to ensure smooth and efficient integration.

  • Project Responsibilities

  • Maintain and fix bugs across multiple projects as well as ensure that standards are being kept throughout the front end and back end code.

  • Ensure front end and back end aspects of projects proceed efficiently, predictably and on time.

  • Review the statement of work, functional spec, and other documents to understand the project goals and project specifics such as: hours sold, timeline, browser support, coding standards, framework requirements, etc.

  • Identify and raise potential project risks to the team and help to alleviate those risks.

  • Perform smoke tests on various devices and browsers.

  • Feature development.

    Qualifications

  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript

  • Experience with SCSS/SASS

  • 3+ years of experience in full stack web development, with a focus on both frontend and backend technologies.

  • Strong command of web standards, responsive design, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.

  • Knowledge of one or more JavaScript frameworks, React preferred. Knowledge of other frameworks such as Vue and Angular

  • Experience with technologies such as C#, .Net, SQL, GraphQL, and ORM frameworks.

  • Experience working with eCommerce platforms and workflows.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with source control systems (GIT)

  • Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)

  • Nice to Have

  • Experience building headless architectures

  • Tailwind and/or Bootstrap experience

  • Understanding and experience working with content management systems such as Optimizely, Umbraco, Sitecore, etc…

  • Experience with eCommerce platform Orckestra Commerce

  • NextJS
