Schedule:

  • Monday-Thursday, 5:00 A.M. -- 3:30 P.M.

     

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED; Associates Degree preferred. 5 or more years warehouse experience.

DESIRED COMPETENCIES/ABILITIES/SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Perform Cycle Counts as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fork Lift Certification may be required.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to follow and comply with applicable good manufacturing, safety, and quality assurance practices.
  • Provide forklift operations for the Packaging and/or Shipping & Receiving departments. Load/Unload incoming and outbound trailers.
  • Account for daily production totals and product placement.

     

REQUIREMENTS:

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Reads picklist and issues materials to proper work areas.
  • Checks inventory on the computer and finds location of proper stock.
  • Inputs receipts into the computer.
  • Checks shipping orders to assure proper material is shipped to right vendor.
  • Loads and unloads trucks and prepares material for shipment. Operates order picker.
  • Counts, weighs and records number of units of material moved. Labels materials for shipment.
  • Contribute to general cleaning and good housekeeping practices throughout the facility.
  • Provide forklift operations for the Packaging and/or Shipping & Receiving departments. Load/Unload incoming and outbound trailers
  • Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas
  • Identify and label materials, and record their locations in the warehouse/on the shelves to maintain inventory
  • Prepare finished products for shipment by identifying their location, then pulling, packing, and loading them
  • Operate trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move freight
  • Perform and report cycle counts
  • Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines
  • May assist with movement of all hazardous materials and Universal waste

CONTACT WITH OTHERS:

This person interacts with a large number of internal contacts- including production employees, supervisors and managers. 

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL/COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; manual dexterity to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.  The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by the job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  The individual must have a high level of comprehension, and a high level of general, verbal, written, and numerical intelligence.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works majo ity of the day in a climate-controlled environment, with the exception of or otherwise specified, performing work in the warehouse or manufacturing areas which are subject to changes in temperature and/or noise.

 

LOCATION:

Gentex's Carbondale facility is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania in Lackawanna County. Carbondale, PA is about twenty miles north of Scranton, PA, 50 miles south of Binghamton, NY, and about 125 miles from New York City and Philadelphia. The area hosts numerous nearby state parks, nature preserves and local colleges and universities, including The University of Scranton and Marywood University.
