Be part of the nation-s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors (SIMCO), an LLC of Bechtel, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as anInstructorand join our team to support our government customer in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Instructors must be qualified to perform their duties on topics, subject matter, and equipment for which they have the experience with the material being presented. They are responsible to teach and evaluate to the standards as presented in TRG-300, Classroom Instructor Level II, or equivalent.

Instructors who are responsible for instruction on subjects such as technical safety requirements (TSRs) must have successfully completed training on facility operating characteristics and principles, and operating limits (Safety Limits, Limiting Control Settings, and Limiting Conditions for Operation) and their bases or have had significant involvement in writing the TSRs. Instructors must have demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through basic instructor or equivalent training, or experience approved by the training manager. Instructors must have knowledge and/or expertise for the material being presented.

Exempt Salary Grade (30-34)

Minimum Requirements:These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and applications are the means of determination.

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline with six (6) years of work experience, or

  • Associate-s degree in related discipline with ten (10) years of work experience, or

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency with fourteen (14) years of work experience is required.

  • Five (5) years of DOE, WIPP, Facility Operations, Safety, and/or Training/Instructor experience is required.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Minimum salary $78,719 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate-s relevant experience and education.
