Summary This position will perform maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, and related utilities. Assist journeyman/higher grade maintenance workers in performing more difficult assignments such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, cement work, painting, roofing, and other trades. This position may be filled for a six-month seasonal period, but can vary due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: Late-April to October 2025. Operate and maintain a public water system including daily residual testing, pump operations, flushing lines, and managing equipment. Must be certified by the State of Utah as a Water Operator. Perform repairs and maintenance to building systems including carpentry, finish work, plumbing, electrical, and concrete. Maintain tools and equipment used in facility management in a safe an efficient manner. Physical Effort: Works from ladders, scaffolds and platforms and where surfaces to be coated, or the parts of systems worked on are hard to reach requiring the incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries and sets up parts and equipment that weigh up to 40 pounds. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside where dirt, spray, and fumes are present. Also required to work in inclement weather and/or wear protective equipment and clothing that are sometimes heavy and uncomfortable. If the incumbent of the position operates a motor vehicle(s), they must have a valid State's Driver's License. Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship required. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males. Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program. Government housing may be available. You may be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided. You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and/or shift work. If selected for a position/location required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required. You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you. You must possess and maintain a current Water Treatment Operators Certificate, and you must be able to secure and maintain a valid State of Utah Department of Environmental Quality Small Systems Water Treatment Operators Certificate.
