National Mental Health Screener Job Location US-MN-Center City ID 2024-11333 Status On Call Shift Varied Schedule Varied Hours of Work 8a-8p CST Responsibilities The national mental health screener is responsible for reviewing and accessing potential Hazelden Betty Ford applicants for admission appropriateness to residential services. The mental health screener consults with clinical and pre-admission teams as needed. The mental health screener is involved in continuous process improvement initiatives. Reviews referred mental health pre-admission screens for national residential services and communicates clinical opinions on the admission decision to the appropriate admissions staff and site leaders as needed. Carries the mental health case load and communicates referrals and denials to team members, family members and applicants as needed. Assists admission staff with the Columbia screen as needed and occasionally completes. Evaluates and improves the mental health screening process. Records admission recommendations and provides monthly accounts to the admission committee. Trains additional mental health staff to assist with screenings and provides consultation as requested to other screeners. Serve on internal teams and participate in related meetings related to mental health screening and admissions. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Graduate degree in psychology or social work Diagnostic assessment experience Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to exercise independent judgment Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology Substantial experience conducting diagnostic assessments Thorough knowledge of the DSM 5 Min USD $39.78/Hr.
