Job Summary
Works on the design, development, documentation, deployment, and maintenance of the GOTS application used by the Large Deck New Construction IPT. The application is maintained in a spiral development fashion where the applications is deployed to the end users but has a development cycle to support new requirements as the work process changes. The tool is developed, deployed, and maintained in compliance with DoD security requirements: The code is developed to avoid security risks, the host system and applications are updated according to STIGS, and data is secured and backed up to secure location.
Telework is supported at 100%. Travel is not required.
Responsibilities and Duties
Acts proficiently using PHP, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Apache, bash, GIT, and relational databases. Achieves a complete understanding of the software architecture of the application. Translates new user requirements into functional implementation plans consistent with the existing application architecture. Develop code modules to supplement the application based on the current software architecture and new end-user requirements. Data Base Administrator. Provides Data access management to new users of the application. Understands the database schema and its relationship to the application. Provides maintenance services such as data migration and backup. System/Cyber Security Administrator. Performs basic system administration on an RHEL host. Updates and patch system and application. Maintains host system compliant with IAVMS. Performs weekly scans on system and correct findings. Supports coordination of Cybersecurity T&E IAW DoDI 5000.02 and the DoD Risk Management Framework.
Qualifications and Skills
Required knowledge and years of experience
At least four (4) years of practical experience in Cyber security and Code development.
Must be familiar with Linux, RHEL/CENTOS/Fedora system administration. Must be familiar with RMF and application pipelines. Must have experience applying STIGS and using scanning tools to verify compliance. Must have a basic network knowledge: CIDR, DNS, routers, switches etc. Must be familiar with: PKI certificates, OCSP, open ssl - Open Source Software concepts, GNU license, etc. Must be familiar with setting up and configuring Apache hpttd server on a Linux OS - Configuring virtual hosts - OCSP authentication configuration for PKI certificates, Smart-cards - MySQL/MariaDB Server experience - Data modeling, relational databases - Proficient in SQL, PDO, - Web scripting languages: PHP, java-script, HTML, CSS - Experience with Git, Git hub.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Certifications
Cybersecurity Workforce Framework (CSWF). Must have at a minimum AIT Level 1 and certification as a LINUX System administrator (preferably Red Hat Certified System Administrator)
