Description

Corteva Agriscience is looking to hire a Supply Planner to join our Supply Chain team. Corteva Agriscience is a world leader in protecting and preserving our food and helping agricultural communities thrive.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Supply Planner works closely with the external manufacturers, supply chain team and other functions including sales, marketing and customer services to ensure that inventory for assigned products is available to meet the business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production Planning & Execution

  • Work closely with the external manufacturers to schedule the production requirements and create a materials and capacity feasible short term production plan (1-3 month horizon).

  • Lead weekly and monthly local supply team meeting to determine and communicate feasible schedule for the next week/month and ensure that all parties are aligned:

  • Partner with external manufacturers to determine optimal production schedule.

  • Confirm raw materials inventories are ample to run the schedule; logistics constraints; equipment downtime; discuss any disposition of off spec material produced since last meeting and other plant issues.

  • Create and release production orders / purchase orders.

  • Monitor production performance to schedule and ensure SAP is managed in alignment with schedule performance.

  • Ensure the production is received against the production orders and purchase orders in SAP and complete any month-end / year-end SAP processes.

  • Responsible to drive product availability to meet defined customer service level. Proactively communicate with Customer Services, Master Scheduler, Deployment Planner, Logistics Specialist, and Demand Manager regarding issues with product availability where service level will be affected (order will not ship on time).

  • Resolve exceptions within delegated approval level (e.g. abnormal demand, manufacturing issues, material delays, etc). Ensure that action plans are developed and executed so that planning exceptions are resolved and communicated. Develop supply options when unable to resolve exceptions and escalate as required.

  • Ensure that inventory accuracy is maintained with inventory counts and reconciliations.

  • Responsible for the supply of materials required to meet the production schedule and business objectives, in conjunction with the Material Planner and Master Scheduler.

  • Review MRP exception messages within the planning time fence and resolves or escalates supply/demand imbalances as appropriate.

  • Manage the SAP master data for all materials (raw material, formulated bulk, products) to ensure generation of realistic requisitions in SAP.

  • Manage the documentation required and coordinate the import of materials, including working with the Customs broker, freight forwarder, warehouse teams and customer services. Support the Accounts Payable regional team with feedback on any queries, and assist vendors with resolution of queries.

Logistics - Domestic & Export

  • Accountable for the outbound logistics processes and ensures the dispatch of all production is efficient and timely to meet the requirements of the business

  • Work with the Deployment Planner to determine destination for production, both domestic and export.

  • Communicate domestic requirements to logistics partners to arrange transportation from external manufacturer to distribution warehouses.

  • Communicate export requirements to Freight Forwarder to arrange logistics bookings with carriers (ocean freight, air freight, road transport).

Improvement

  • Identify and lead improvement initiatives to deliver improved service, delivery, cost, inventory performance, lead-time and other key performance metrics that are priorities for the business.

  • As M&ISC Implement Project leader, lead projects across new product launches and supply chain improvement, ensuring that M&ISC best practices are leveraged throughout the project.

Qualifications

  • Proven Supply Chain experience with demonstrated knowledge of supply chain principles, systems and processes.

  • Experience within supply chain, customer services or business systems functions, and with using information technology and systems supporting supply chain activities including proficiency using ERP systems (e.g. SAP).

  • Demonstrated Excel and data analysis skills.

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Supply Chain)
