Job Description

Kayem is a family-owned and operated craft meat business that has been making New England’s favorite franks, sausages and prepared meats in Chelsea, MA since 1909. We are looking for a Sales Analyst to join our dynamic Sales team and Kayem family as a key resource supporting our business by developing sales strategies. This is a hybrid role based out of Chelsea, MA office.

The critical role of Sales & Marketing Analyst will report directly to the Director of Sales Planning and Support and provide the Kayem Sales and Marketing organization with comprehensive performance analysis, reporting and insights to monitor key metrics, and performance updates to the team/organization. In this role you will develop an in-depth knowledge of category performance, Kayem and competitive performance, channel specific and customer selling activities to deliver key insights to assist team in delivering objectives, organizational priorities, and customer needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our Categories, Customers, Kayem Brands and SKUs, and competitors and competitive activity; Turn data and insights into actionable recommendations for sell-in, and business case presentations

  • Leverage Nielsen/NIQ Discover Syndicated and Panel data to identify and analyze consumer, Brand, customer, and channel trends, risks and opportunities that impact our sales and Brands

  • Create monthly business reports for Sales, Brand, and the Executive Team to provide insights into business performance, explain key causals, identify implications, and make recommendations for optimization

  • Work with cross-functional team in the development and preparation for sales calls, presentations, demonstrations, and proposals related to our products and programs. Working with Marketing and Sales, customize sales decks with customer level data to create selling stories and drive recommendations

  • Collaborate with Director of Sales Planning, Sales and Marketing on development, execution, and performance tracking of annual plan and budget, key customer account plans and promotions

  • Track promotions across customers and perform post-promotion analysis

  • Track competitive promotional activity and identify risks and opportunities for our brands

  • Collaborate with Marketing on tracking and reporting of new product performance

  • Support Sales and Brand with ad hoc Nielsen/NIQ Discover Syndicated and Panel data support for development of key issues, brand, category, product/business case inputs, and other post-event analysis.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with minimum of 4+ years of CPG experience.

  • Recent experience working with syndicated/panel data and analysis utilizing Nielsen/NIQ.

  • Demonstrated ability to build compelling selling stories.

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a broad audience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Category/business planning and insights.

  • Ability to be in Chelsea, MA office frequently preferred.

  • Flexibility to travel (driving and air) to engage with clients face to face (5%-10%).
