Citigroup AVP - IT Project Management (PMO) in Chennai, India

Citi’s Technology Organizational Program Management Office (Org PMO) is looking for a vigilant process-oriented professional in Chennai, India to join the Health Checks function of the PM Control Effectiveness group as a C12 - IT Project Senior Analyst / Assistant Vice President.

The Health Check function involves the review and assessment of Strategic Initiatives, Programs, and Projects to identify risks, issues, weak points, and gaps in adherence to Citi’s corporate policies, standards, and procedures. Health Checks seeks to evaluate core Program/Project elements including but not limited to Business Critical Milestones, Work Effort Status Comment, RAG Status Validation, Scope/Schedule Management, Stakeholder Engagement, and Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management. Deficiencies and gaps observed are tracked through remediation in partnership with Project Managers.

This role requires a candidate with a strong understanding of Citi’s Project Management process, PM Governance, the Project Tracking Tool (PTS 2.0), and Citi PM Procedures. The vision is to continually improve, focus, and strengthen the Org PMO’s governance impact.

The ideal candidate must be able to develop relationships with their peers as well as Project manager and teams under review. This candidate will become be a trusted advisor through the guidance, challenges, training, and impact provided. This role provides employees with the vantage point of an Org PMO-wide view into the governance and oversight of multiple Functions/Lines of Business. and provides opportunity for the candidate to deepen relationships within the Org PMO, as well as establish key contacts across our technology businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute Health Check assessments in a timely and effective manner to provide objective insight for Senior Managers into the quality of a project’s processes and their associated artifacts.

  • Enhance the Health Check Framework; Areas include scoping, assessments, organization of results, and communication of breaches along with tracking of appropriate remediation actions.

  • Participate in Org PMO Leads meetings. Present at Org PMO Team meetings, Function PMO Lead Meetings, and during Ask Me Anything sessions when required.

  • Provide reporting and analysis in clear, concise communications; prepare presentation decks using executive messaging techniques.

  • Develop and deliver internal metrics, identifying trends and insights for improvement of operational efficiency.

  • Partner with the Tools & Automation team to highlight and develop process efficiencies via the Reviews at Citi and PM Insight platforms.

  • Partner with PQA, Spot Checks, and other internal functions – Book of Work Oversight, Procedures, and Training – to develop synergies and feedback loops to create stronger Governance practices across the Technology Org PMO.

  • Challenge or present an independent, challenging view to the PM Community with clarity on what good, compliant, or fit-for-purpose PM processes and artifacts look like.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience into Project Management / Project Governance

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related field and 5-8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as an IT Business Analyst, Project Manager, PM Analyst, or closely related position.

  • Knowledge of software development life cycle or other technology processes.

  • Experience in working within global and distributed virtual teams.

  • Process oriented; able to analyze current processes, suggest and define improvements.

  • Must be a motivated, self-starter who can independently handle tasks with little oversight.

  • Power User of: SharePoint; Word; Excel; PowerPoint

  • CAPm / PMP certification is a plus.

  • Experience with Citi PM Standards, Tools and Reporting is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry is a plus.
