Description

We are in search of a meticulous Loan Servicing Support Specialist to join our team in the mortgage industry. Based in Cheshire, Connecticut, this role involves handling support tasks related to loan processing and servicing. This is a contract to hire employment opportunity, ideal for those with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of loan servicing functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and arrange escrow payments for property taxes, insurance, and association dues

• Handle payments, advances, and adjustments on loans

• Investigate and resolve issues related to misapplied or missing loan payments

• Handle general loan maintenance tasks, including modifications, extensions, and required changes in core processing systems

• Correct credit reporting errors and respond to credit reporting disputes

• Efficiently and accurately manage customer inquiries via telephone and email, including generating loan payoff letters

• Check for completeness and accuracy of loan documentation

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various tasks related to loan servicing

• Maintain accurate system records and legal documents

• Ensure adherence to compliance protocols in a highly confidential environment.

Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Experience in the mortgage industry, specifically in loan servicing, is preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to liaise with clients and team members

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing paperwork and meeting deadlines

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet customer needs and business goals

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills to resolve customer issues and queries

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Knowledge of loan servicing software and systems is advantageous

• Familiarity with federal and state laws related to loan servicing is desirable

• Proven customer service skills to ensure positive experiences for clients

• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is required; a degree in finance or a related field is preferred

• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training programs.
