Robert Half Tax Staff - Public in Cheshire, Connecticut

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Staff - Public in Cheshire, Connecticut. The role involves preparing and reviewing various types of tax returns, developing financial strategies, and communicating with clients and staff. This position requires a strong commitment to professional education and staying current with business environment and tax law changes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual, fiduciary, corporate, and partnership tax returns in compliance with federal and state tax laws

• Calculate and prepare personal and business estimated Federal and State tax payments

• Develop and implement tax and financial strategies

• Communicate with clients and staff to ensure timely delivery of financial statements, focusing on tax law compliance and profit maximization

• Stay current with the business environment and tax law changes

• Assist and supervise junior staff as necessary

• Interpret, investigate, prepare, and respond to correspondence from the IRS and other Taxing Agencies

• Utilize skills in Federal Income Tax, Individual Tax Return, Bookkeeping, and Wealth Management. Requirements

• Proficient in Federal Income Tax regulations and procedures

• Experience in Individual Tax Return preparation and filing

• Skilled in Bookkeeping and financial record-keeping

• Knowledge of Wealth Management principles and strategies

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
