Objective of Position :
The Compliance Testing Manager is responsible for the development and execution of the monitoring and testing components of Byline Bank’s Compliance Management System. Monitoring and testing ensures the Bank’s compliance with relevant federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures. The position supports overall compliance through leading and executing compliance reviews designed to evaluate the effectiveness of business controls. This position primarily tests compliance with consumer protection, fair lending, and operational regulatory requirements applicable to retail and commercial banking at an FDIC chartered bank and its affiliated leasing company but may also support other areas of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages a team that plans, scopes and designs risk-based compliance testing and monitoring reviews that adequately address coverage of laws, rules and regulations applicable to the Bank and its affiliated leasing company as well as adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Develops the annual compliance testing schedule and ensures all compliance reviews are completed timely.
Identifies control weaknesses and root causes of compliance deficiencies, conducts extensive research to support regulatory findings/control weaknesses and proposes appropriate corrective action.
Prepares reports for key stakeholders and management that accurately, clearly and concisely present the scope of compliance reviews and issues identified.
Assesses the adequacy of remediation activities, monitors through completion and escalates past-due items.
Maintains and updates all relevant compliance testing and monitoring procedures and scripts, and provides training as needed.
Keeps abreast of internal process, controls and regulatory requirements, understands and identifies changes in rules and regulations and the impact on monitoring and testing activities.
Collaborates and develops relationships with line of business management to ensure timely and transparent communication.
Provides guidance to the team in all phases of a compliance review as needed.
Prepares periodic and ad-hoc reports for management and Committees of the Board of Directors.
Facilitates and manages compliance audits and exams.
Assists with compliance responsibilities related to mergers and acquisitions.
Assists with other compliance-related projects and tasks, as requested.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Compliance, Finance, Regulatory Review, Accounting, Law, Risk Management or related discipline, or an equivalent amount of related work experience.
Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), preferred.
8+ years of professional experience of compliance and risk management experience.
Extensive knowledge of banking compliance requirements, including federal banking regulator(s), rules and regulations.
Familiarity with regulations such as the Electronic Funds Transfer Act (Reg. E), Flood Disaster Protection Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Reg. B), Fair Credit Reporting Act (Reg. V), Funds Availability Act (Reg. CC), Unfair Deceptive and Abusive Acts and Practices (incl. Reg. AA), Privacy of Consumer Financial Information (Reg. P) and other state privacy laws, Electronic Signatures in Global Commerce Act, Truth In Savings Act (Reg. DD), Truth In Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act (Reg. X), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (Reg. C), Community Reinvestment Act (Reg. BB), SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act (Reg. G), Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Loans by Members to their Executive Officers, Directors, and Principal Shareholders (Reg. O), Debit Card Interchange Fees and Routing (Reg. II), Right to Financial Privacy Act, etc.
Comprehensive knowledge of federally recognized examination procedures to evaluate compliance with related laws and regulations.
Knowledge and experience in monitoring and testing compliance processes and procedures.
Effective verbal and written communications skills, including active listening skills, and skills in presenting findings and recommendations.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to research issues and use the information to resolve problems.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and priorities.
Ability to interact with line of business management to ensure that results are understood, and recommendations are implemented.
Proficiency in working with Microsoft Windows, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value diverse perspectives.
Skilled in planning and project management, and in maintaining composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office equipment. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices.

This role allows for a combination of remote and in-office work, with occasional visits to the office based on business needs. Specific in-office days may vary and will be discussed during the interview process.
Compensation & Benefits:
Byline Bank offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels.
The salary range for this position is between $121,000 to $161,000.
In addition, Byline provides benefits including medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, paid time off and much more! Depending on the specific role, compensation may also include discretionary bonuses and other benefit programs. The actual compensation package may vary based on factors such as skill set, experience level, and candidate's location.
