Position Purpose

We’re seeking a spirited “can do” person to join our Warehouse team in the exciting world of hazmat compliance. The Production Assembly Supervisor is present at the workplace, hands-on and has experience in Assembly Operations or relevant Supervisory Experience. A strategic thinker and problem solver who leads by example and is responsible for providing direction and support to 20-25 Production Assembly employees. Responsible for working with metal sheets and assembling, fitting small parts to complete sub-assemblies, or completed units at a workstation and conveyor. Requires ability to work with assembly machinery and operate small hand tools, mechanically inclined mindset.

Essential Functions & Principal Accountabilities

  • Oversee daily Production Assembly functions supervising staffing ensuring work standards are met for compliance and overall customer experience.

  • Safety first mentality, inspects equipment and enforces safety requirements daily

  • Assists with training, recognition and reward programs, development of departmental metrics, productivity goals, performance reviews, tracks employee attendance and disciplinary actions as appropriate.

  • Ensures company policies, quality procedures and good practices are understood and followed by all employees including HR policies, company ISO quality program, company goals and daily objectives.

  • Provides feedback to employees on their performance

  • Promotes Cross Training and implementation

  • Ensures oneself and employees trained and proficient with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, daily transactions are completed and accurately accounted for

  • Ability to read & interpret documents.

  • Ability & skill to relate effectively to work associates.

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving many concrete variables in standardized and un-standardized situations.

  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts

  • Knowledge of assembly concepts and techniques

  • Understanding of Labelmaster’s production assembly process & procedures

  • Understanding of each piece of equipment – its capabilities, limitations & inner workings

  • Effective verbal communication skills

    Education/Training/Experience

  • High School Diploma, College Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience preferred in production environment

  • Mechanically inclined

  • Working knowledge of 6S Lean and continuous improvement

  • Forklift Experience

    Technology

  • MS Office preferred, Windows, Word, Excel & Access

  • Experience with ERP systems (IE. MS 365 Business Central, MS Dynamics Navision, Oracle, SAP)

  • RF Scanning

  • Good keyboarding skills

    Essential Physical Demands

  • Lift and/or move materials up to 35lbs.

  • Pushing, pulling and/or carrying up to 35lbs

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
