The Role:

The Staff Accountant is fundamental within the finance department, responsible for supporting general accounting tasks, assisting in financial reporting, preparing accurate journal entries, conducting reconciliations, and contributing to the month-end close process. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, a solid grasp of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and record journal entries in the General Ledger pertaining to bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions and other various accounts.
  • Assist with intercompany reconciliations and confirmations
  • Work closely with Treasury, Tax and international finance teams
  • Perform data balancing activities, reconciliation and analysis of related ledger accounts
  • Assist in the month end, quarter end, and year end close process
  • Provide audit support for quarterly and year-end audits
  • Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), general accounting process and internal control elements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting
  • 0-2 years of related professional experience
  • CPA or CPA candidacy
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft General Ledger or HFM is a beneficial asset
  • Proficiency in accounting and financial systems is required
  • Preferred experience in interfacing with business customers to define general ledger, account, and reporting requirements
  • Experience in Account to Report process improvement and application systems implementation is advantageous

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
