    POSITION DESCRIPTION: Supervises security/front desk personnel and the operations and maintenance of the Districtwide fire/security systems. Oversees front desk activities to ensure all records and assignments are adhered to and within procedures. Enforces access control, manages fire/security contract terms and conditions and ensures districtwide fire/security systems remain operational. Serves as contract manager and works with contractors for fire/security systems, including events occurring after normal business hours. Monitors and maintains electronic security system, including evaluation, inspection to detect or identify problems, purchases, contract documents and operation of system. Reviews programs, security cameras, video, materials and events daily to detect or identify problems and improvements pertaining to building operations, security, access control and safety. Makes, issues and inventories security badges for the purpose of access control. Purchases and maintains access control system, supplies and equipment. Monitors and ensures training of security/front desk personnel and maintains internal procedure manuals and logs. Coordinates with local law enforcement authorities as necessary.

    Serves as District Mailroom Coordinator and supervises mailroom staff. Sorts and disburses all incoming mail and processes outgoing mail for the District Office complex. Processes all incoming and outgoing shipping through courier services. Assists with the delivery of mail throughout District Office complex, Post Office and deliveries to field offices and Central Office. Operates and maintains postage meter, including requesting and monitoring budget.

    Serves as District Records Coordinator. Coordinates with units to ensure proper retention, management and distribution of records. Ensures Record Disposition Requests are completed properly according to the Records Retention Schedule. Monitors and ensures the District is in compliance with these processes and procedures.

    Serves as Wireless Communications Coordinator. Orders cell phones and smartphones, orders/tracks needed supplies and equipment (batteries, clips, chargers, etc.), repairs/replaces damaged equipment and monitors payment of monthly bills.

    Serves as District Recycle Program Coordinator. Ensures recycling is handled according to procedure. Contact local officials to pick up recyclables as necessary. Ensures employees are aware of the program and emphasizes the positive aspects of employee participation and cooperation.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Skilled in word processing, spreadsheet, database and personal computer applications. Skilled in written and verbal communications. Knowledge of problem-solving techniques. Knowledge of security practices, policies, and procedures. Ability to understand records retention procedures. Ability to maintain alarm systems for fire protection and security. Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision and management. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, assign and track multiple projects. Ability to interpret, understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to supervise.
