Job Description:

Maintenance Planner Job Summary:

Responsible for repairs and maintenance job plan development, work order backlog management and shutdown planning and scheduling for the on-site maintenance department. Ensure all maintenance work is planned to drive conditions that promote improving equipment uptime and efficient plant operation. Works with production colleagues, corporate engineering, contractors and OEMs to ensure effective maintenance is planned, performed and documented. Gathers and analyzes data pertaining to machine performance and follows established procedures and the direction of senior colleagues to resolve technical problems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans corrective, preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance work order activities, while coordinating daily with manufacturing and maintenance supervision.
  • Tracks work orders and maintains accurate and detailed equipment history files.
  • Controls and optimizes maintenance spare parts ordering, stocking, issuing and inventorying.
  • Become a lead computerized maintenance management system user and trainer for craftsmen and new employees.
  • Facilitate weekly work order backlog review and shutdown planning meetings.
  • Is the lead for the planning and scheduling for facility shutdowns.
  • Assist with root cause analyses for equipment and system failures. Directs maintenance colleagues towards identified problems.
  • Follows established best practice procedures to resolve technical problems. Provides support to operations to increase machine uptime and productivity.
  • Gathers and analyzes data pertaining to machine performance and work order backlog. Uses data to track and identify deficiencies that create downtime, reduce reliability, or increase work order backlog. Utilizes data to identify and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Adheres to all plant safety policies. Participates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, Operational Excellence, and Lean Manufacturing programs.
  • Assist with maintenance or contractor supervisory tasks as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

Education and Experience

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in industrial manufacturing repairs and maintenance.

     

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong computerized maintenance management system software experience.
  • Familiar with best practice maintenance job planning & scheduling, inventory management and work order backlog management practices.
  • Familiar with electrical systems, common maintenance tools, manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting skills and common repair and maintenance practices.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and maintenance best practices.
  • Possesses strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
