Michelman Representative, Inside Sales in Cincinnati, Ohio

General Summary

Currently, we are seeking an Inside Sales Representative who is self-motivated, energetic, and dynamic. You will be tasked with managing and growing our potential prospects, along with some of our strategic, smaller “house accounts.” You will also help identify prospects and execute outreach plans across our strategic new market segments. As an integral part of our growing team, you will also qualify all incoming leads, segment them, and provide ongoing sales support to increase revenue, improve profitability and to foster excellent customer relationships. You will also collaborate with our Technology and Marketing teams to execute strategic marketing activities and growth initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with technical questions/requests, pricing and sample inquiries and help establish great customer collaboration

  • Prepare quotations and provide requested product information, such as sales and/or technical information, such as Technical Data Sheets and Material Safety Data Sheet’s

  • Order and track all samples sent to potential prospects

  • Publish monthly customer activity reports, and follow up with customer on product performance and test results as well as follow industry trends that may lead to increased sales

  • Identify trends across sample orders, product inquiries, and turn this data into actionable initiatives

  • Generate, develop and qualify new leads and prospect customers through customer and market research and internal target customer lists

  • Maintain a log of key customer and market activities and provide appropriate and timely follow-up

  • Escalate qualified leads and related information to Territory Sales Managers, Key Account Managers, and Marketing

  • Develop new approaches and methodologies to generate and qualify new customer leads

  • Use internal CRM, sales processes, and business tools to manage the pipeline of new customer targets

  • Responsible for providing sales management for strategic house accounts, develop key customer relationships and develop a sales strategy to achieve the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)

  • Develop a methodology to identify, target, and engage new potential customers in targeted strategic segments

  • Validate targeted market approaches to generate external product interest and attract new early-stage customers

Other

  • Must be willing to travel occasionally to customer sites

  • Ability to multi-task / provide appropriate follow-up / prioritize activities and initiatives

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer-engagement skills

  • Proactive and energetic approach to problem solving

  • Ability to ask the right questions to identify opportunities and provide solutions

  • Effective prospecting, cold-calling, and potential customer identification skills

  • Effective communication (written & verbal), and acute presentation skills

  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams, including Operations, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing and Technology

  • Be willing to work across departments where your skills may benefit the organization.

  • Have a desire for upward mobility into Territory Sales or Key Account Management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Sales Force

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 1+ years in B2B experience

  • Customer support or sales related support

Work Hours

Michelman’s standard work hours for this role are Monday – Friday from 8 am – 5 pm EST.
