This position will play a pivotal role in leading the design and implementation of student events, implementing wellbeing programs, and supporting administrative and operational functions within the student affairs department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Design, implement, and lead special event planning and execution. Serve as principal project manager for program development, administration, and training of the new student orientation programs for the school of medicine and Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (CCLCM), student clinician ceremony, graduation awards ceremony, and the Alpha Omega Alpha chapter activities. This includes forecasting expenses, creating budgets, negotiating contracts, processing reimbursements, securing venues, catering, audiovisual requests, etc. Work with representatives from offices within the vice dean for medical education to plan activities, communications, and logistics and direct office staff to ensure the successful execution of programs. Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of these events through feedback collection and analysis, continuously striving to enhance the quality of programming. (40%) Lead the management of the school of medicine's medical student wellbeing and community building program, including leadership development and community engagement among students through student-led groups such as Community of Student Representatives and InterSociety Council. This multifaceted role involves designing, implementing, and overseeing initiatives that not only promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of medical students but also cultivate a sense of belonging and connection to the school and within the student body. The assistant director will develop workshops, seminars, and resources focused on stress management, work-life balance, mindfulness, and other relevant topics, integrating elements of leadership development and community engagement. Collaboration with campus health services, departments within medical education, and external partners will be essential to providing students with access to resources and support services that address their holistic needs. Monitor and assess the impact of wellbeing programs through surveys, focus groups, and other assessment tools, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of students and contribute to the overall well-being and sense of community within the school of medicine. (20%) Serve as principal project manager for the program development, administration, and training of academic programs, including leading planning meetings, monitoring student status for compliance and implementation of programs in collaboration with other medical education offices. Collaborate with medical education administration and student interest groups to deliver programs on academic success (Preparing for Step 1, How to do Academic Research, etc.). Manage class meetings, wellness breaks, and prepare documents for student success. Manage Advising Portal content, direct staff audits to ensure completion of required documents. (10%) Plan departmental and project budget needs. On behalf of leadership, make projections, analyze budget variances, resolve issues that arise, and recommend courses of action. (15%) Supervise the office manager and work collaboratively with them to ensure operational activities are managed effectively and efficiently.
