Ohio State Job Bank Associate Scrum Master in Cleveland, Ohio

The Associate Scrum Master role is responsible for learning and supporting the efficient and effective implementation of Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework within software development teams. They work under the supervision of an experienced Scrum Master. The incumbent gains an understanding of the day-to-day facilitation of the Scrum process, identifying risks and resolving roadblocks with mentorship from the experienced Scrum Master. The Associate Scrum Master plays a supporting role to help the team deliver high-quality software products on time and within budget, allowing the organization to achieve its goals and enhance user experience. Participate in Scrum events, including Sprint planning, daily stand-ups, Sprint reviews, and retrospectives and absorb important takeaways Strive to adhere to and promote Agile principles and the Scrum framework Attend coaching sessions by experienced Scrum Masters on Scrum practices and values Identify potential impediments impacting the team's progress Make efforts to communicate and collaborate actively with team members and stakeholders Understand and typify the key principles of Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework, such as self-organization and cross-functionality and Agile core principles Adapt a mindset geared towards enhancing team performance and its Agile maturity Communicate early and transparently with team members about challenges encountered Support Product Owners by updating backlog items Update status of own tasks to monitor self-progress and support team progress management This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H1-B visa. This position has a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and the option for working remotely two days. Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Education Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field, or in lieu of a degree, at least 2 years of experience in software development or project management Preferred Scrum Master certification (e.g., CSM or PSM) or currently working towards obtaining a certification Skills and Experience Knowledge & Experience 0-2 years of experience in software development, IT project management, or a related field 0-1 year of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile role Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum framework Experience of working in a team environment Solid communication skills Solid understanding of Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally) preferred Technical Skills DevOps Methodology Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Methodology Project Management Methodology Agile Planning and Collaboration Tools Product Strategy & Planning Modern Delivery Product Lifecyle Management Demand & Capacity Management Reporting Tools Sherwin-Williams is proud to be an Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Inclusion and Diversity Supportive Employer.
