Job Description


Title: Journeyman Level

Reports to: General Manager


Job summary

Under general supervision, performs Journeyman level work in the installation, construction, modification, repair and maintenance of electrical apparatuses, equipment, and systems; act as lead worker to other classified staff in the area, and perform related work as required.

Summary of essential job functions

Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.

  1. Prioritizes and incorporates safety throughout planning and execution of the projects.
  2. Assist with Leadman duties and responsibilities
  3. Ability to work independently as well as with others
  4. Able to supervise as well as delegate responsibilities on projects
  5. Works with the Leadman to ensure safety, scheduling, design, automation, estimating, ordering, shop/equipment check out and billing are all correct.
  6. Makes sure all safety procedures are being followed and paperwork is being filled out and turned into the office. (JHA, Lockout/Tagout, Permits, Commissioning and DOT)
  7. Can do the more intricate wiring and electrical needs.
  8. Must be able to run pipe, pull wire, dig trenches, wire equipment and mound boxes as needed.
  9. Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs new/old equipment and systems.
  10. Ability to service equipment during a breakdown
  11. Understands scope of work and discusses with project Leadman on work outside the scope of work.
  12. Able to manage and organize job site materials
  13. Able to work on energized equipment with proper PPE and training.
  14. Teaches and trains personnel in the safe operation of equipment and tools.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1.

Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking.

2.

Employees must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.

3.

Employees must be able to perform tasks from an elevated height.

4.

Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical and other environmental hazards.

5.

Be ready and willing to travel.
