Reports to: Engineering, Quality & Maintenance Manager

The Automation Engineering Tech contributes by providing hands-on, technical support to Pittsburgh’s automated packaging equipment. This position works directly with Engineering & Operations to deliver safe, timely and professional support in the technical aspects of our business.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of automated and semi-automated equipment
Design of PLC corrective measures to ensure automation processes are operating at maximum output
Oversee repairs and adjustments to electro-mechanical components such as servo pick-and-place and pneumatic tooling devices
Diagnose and repair faults on 6-axis and SCARA robotics
Develop and implement machine-based improvement projects to maximize productivity and reduce downtime
General equipment & facility maintenance as needed
As-needed support to the OPS team for Quality sorts & rework
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
1-3 years of automation technical experience with a demonstrated history of PLC troubleshooting skills
Technical degree in Industrial Controls, PLC programming or related discipline
Detailed knowledge with the following automation equipment:
Studio 5000 Logix
Allen Bradley PLC's
Fanuc Robotics
Servo Applications
Ability to train and coach machine operators
Skilled in reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
General capability to interpret SolidWorks 3D models
Knowledge in working on industrial electrical circuits (primarily conduit and wire installation) is preferred
Essential Functions
