rPosting Context Statement:

The Program Coordinator will assist with the coordination of the program, perform a wide variety of program support functions, accomplish a variety of tasks, often under time constraints, with little to no supervision for the Kootenai County Extension Educator as assigned or required. This is an off-campus location in Coeur d Alene, ID. Office hours are 5 days a week with some weekends.

rrPosition Overview:

r

This position is responsible for providing day-to-day operations support to team members throughout the planning, implementation and delivery of programs, and may serve as first point of contact for the unit.

Duties may include:

  • Serving as primary contact with program participants, customer service and office support functions
  • Facilitating communicating between program participants and managerial staff
  • Coordinating arrangements for the program such as meetings, conferences and banquets
  • Collecting, compiling and summarizing program data and managing records
  • Maintaining program calendars and schedules
  • May utilize University programs to create, review and approval financial documents, and to provide routine financial reports to the program administrator
  • Other duties as assigned

rrRequired Experience:

r

  • Three years performing administrative, office and/or program support functions

rrRequired Education:

r

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

rrRequired Other:

r

  • Must be able to work occasional nonstandard work hours, including weekends

rrAdditional Preferred:

r

  • Associate or Bachelors degree
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write concise reports, edit documents with proper grammar, and speak effectively to youth and adults
  • Experience with 4-H Youth Development Program, personal or professional
  • One year of experience as a program coordinator/assistant, including experience with the 4-H Youth Development Program (personal or professional)
  • Experience working with and motivating others in a friendly, professional manner
  • Skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making
  • Experience adapting research materials for effective verbal or written communication
  • Proficient in using computer software for word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet research

rrPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift and/or otherwise move up to 25 pounds and, infrequently, up to 50 pounds
