Sodexo Campus Dining is seeking an Executive Chef at longstanding account Saint Michael's College in Colchester, VT. Sodexo operates all dining operations on campus which includes Resident Dining, Retail, Vending, and Catering.

Can you bring the WOW factor to our campus dining program serving hundreds of healthy meals per day? High volume dining that allows for innovation and creativity. The passion to serve great food while managing food costs within budget is a must. Food safety and sanitation are key priorities. Managing Food Management Systems/Apps is critical for this role!

Are you an innovative experienced culinarian with the following skills?

  • Previous success managing high-volume quality food production

  • Experience creating innovative menus with demonstrated best practices for increasing the customer/client experience

  • Proven Culinary knowledge: purchasing, inventory, production schedules and Food & Beverage Cost controls

  • Enjoy interacting with students, faculty, and key stakeholders

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • manage the daily food production including production planning and controls;

  • ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality;

  • manage food costing, controls and compliance;

  • develop menus and manage inventory;

  • have high expectations for customer service and quality of food;

  • have the ability and willingness to develop and train frontline employees;

  • have a passion for food and innovation;

  • have knowledge of special diets and allergens; and

  • knowledge of DRIVE is preferred

The ideal candidate:

  • has a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;

  • has culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;

  • has the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;

  • can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and

  • can demonstrate working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management Systems (DRiVE) and Market Connections (TMC), and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience or can quickly adapt to new technology-based systems.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
