DESCRIPTION OF WORK If you have experience and are eager to embark on an exciting career in public service, we look forward to connecting with you! You have the opportunity to empower and educate inmates on the valuable skills of repairing and constructing low- and high-voltage circuitry. In this role, you will provide knowledge on lighting, power outlets, conduits, underground circuits, switch boxes, breaker panels, switchgear, transformers, motors, electrical appliances, and generators. Additionally, you will have to plan and assign work to inmates who are learning about the electrical trade and assist them at all levels of training through communication, hands-on demonstration, and reviewing and inspecting their work to ensure it meets the standards of the electrical trade. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40-hour work week. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $48,425 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Five years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment used in buildings; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the electrical trade; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the electrical trade.
