The Systems Engineering Division (SED) provides unmatched experience in systems engineering to the U.S. government and to numerous public and private agencies, universities, nonprofit organizations, consortia, and commercial companies involved in the advanced application of space technology. From systems architecture development to system analysis and optimization, astrodynamics, orbital debris, navigation, failure analysis, mission assurance, cost and schedule assessment, and economic market analysis, SED exploits an incredibly broad array of engineering and business disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs and national challenges.

In the Performance Modeling and Analysis Department, we are excited to solve tough problems and explore novel ideas, and we are driven to empower people to make a difference. We are looking for a Modeling and Simulation Project Lead (Project Leader - Modeling & Simulation Engineering) to provide technical capabilities to support our customers in modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of space, air, and ground-based systems. MS&A focus areas may include agent-based modeling, opposing forceconflict simulations, military utility analysis, capability attrition, military target trackingeffectiveness, command and control (C2) evaluation, and killchain analysis. Work Model: This full-time position requires 100% onsite work in El Segundo, CA, Chantilly, VA, or Colorado Springs, CO.

What You'll Be Doing

Provide AFSIM analysis expertisethroughinteractions with Aerospace program office and government customers and by mentoring peers and junior staff members.

Work with other AFSIM team members to lead our internal effort to integratein-house tools with AFSIM

Use and contribute to development of in-house and commercial- and government-off-the-shelf engineering analysis tools with a focus on AFSIM.

Independently translate customer needs into project objectives and instructions for analysts and developers,assemble and lead multi-disciplinary technical teams, coordinate complex technical tasks among team members, track team performance, and review team products for quality and accuracy.

Develop and present timely and technically-accuratepresentations and reports that clearly communicate analysis results and provide recommended solutions to technical leads, management, and customers.

What You Need to be Successful - Project Leader - Modeling & Simulation Engineering

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in applicable STEM areas or other relevant disciplines.

8 years of progressively more responsible engineering experience.

Proficiency with the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM)

Experience leading a team to accomplish an objective.

Knowledge in two or more of the following: communications infrastructure, space surveillance, space protection, spacecraft ground systems, multi-phenomenology remote sensing techniques, or space-driven killchains.

Proficiency in astrodynamics or space operations.

Experience with one or more software languages that may includePython, C++, or MATLAB.
