Focus on the Family Scheduler - Audio Programming in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Scheduler, Audio Programming position exists to develop and maintain the schedule for shows created by the Audio Content team; coordinating the selection of show topics, guests, and products offered.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Scheduling:

  • Strategically plans release dates of recorded material for shows created by the Audio Content team to help support ministry objectives and help insure highest response. Considers potential content proposals to determine what content needs to be recorded for future months. Reviews existing content to determine re-air placement

  • Maintains and revises schedules for shows. Determines contingency plans when needed for the schedules

  • Determines audio ad placement for shows released by the Audio Content team

  • May design and launch the implementation of schedules for new shows, assuring that they align with current standard operating procedures and will integrate into existing reporting

  • May provide recommendations of guests and resources for shows as needed

    Resource Management:

  • Selects and forecasts premium offers for shows created by the Audio Content team

  • Works with the eCommerce team to assure that the premium products are enabled for the online store for the shows

  • Works with Constituent Communications to assure Anedot pages are created for premium offers for the shows

  • Determines when product needs to be brought in under third-party licensing, works with publisher/author contact to start the process, works with eCommerce to establish a SKU, and then brings in Purchasing to complete the transaction

    Response:

  • Determines opportunities to increase new name acquisition for episodes of shows through placement of existing resources, as well as creation of new audio collections

    Relationship Management/Collaboration:

  • Maintains relationship with Marketing for support of ongoing and new campaigns. Tracks marketing impressions for top strategic campaigns for reporting to Marketing

  • Maintains a relationship with Constituent Communications for support of fundraising and coordinated campaigns

  • Maintains relationship with key stakeholders to help support monthly themes

  • Maintains relationship with Book Publishing for the promotion of new and existing Focus on the Family products

  • Communicates with other departments about show details

  • Communicates with external publishers and publicists about show release dates

  • Continually evaluates and improves processes to enhance efficiency and quality

  • Contributes to team projects

    Listener Response Analysis:

  • Analyzes and reports data relating to show response and trends

  • Compiles and distributes daily, weekly, and monthly response reports for shows

  • May work with Reporting to build new reports and dashboards for existing and new shows

    Administrative:

  • May oversee Aprimo usage for project management and digital asset management within the Audio Division, assuring that our activities support required reporting

  • Reviews episode pages/show notes for accuracy, focusing on fundraising, product, strategic calls to action and tracking methodologies

  • Enters show details into SmartSheet; Maintains historical record of episodes released

    Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned

    Personal Characteristics:

  • Detail-oriented, thorough, flexible, articulate, logical, decisive, self-motivated, diplomatic, sensitive, considerate

    Knowledge/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Broadcasting, Communications, Media Studies, or related field

  • 1-3 years of experience in broadcasting, radio programming, scheduling, or media operations

  • Familiarity with audio/video content management systems

  • Experience analyzing audience data and ratings metrics

  • In-depth knowledge of FOF mission, philosophy, values, and objectives

    Skills, Abilities and Special Talents/Gifts:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to juggle multiple schedules and deadlines

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)

  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate schedules

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Familiarity with project management tools like SmartSheet

  • Passion for the media industry and keeping up with trends

  • Familiarity with marketing, advertising, or promotions to better coordinate offers and campaigns. Prior experience at a radio station, TV network or media company is valued.

    Pay Range: $26.00 to $30.00/hr
