Conduent IT Architecture Engineer IV in Columbia, Maryland

About the Role

The IT Architecture Engineer III will design, implement, and maintain application components within our CADAVL product.

Responsibilities

• Examine and define current architecture systems and to be future state.

• Create conceptual E2E architecture and take into detail approach documents.

• Design scalable architecture systems for transit applications

• Code critical architectural features and / or frameworks using latest state of the art technologies.

• Identify the hardware and software infrastructure needs to accommodate the company’s architectural goals.

• Troubleshoot design flaws and system bottlenecks.

• Perform validation tests in collaboration with the testing team to ensure the flexibility and scalability of the environment.

• Assist the software design team with application integration.

• Conduct and review system performance tests, Complete systems reports.

• Display advanced knowledge of software architecture.

• Have curiosity and the ability to pick up new technologies.

• Create innovative solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.

• Deploy functional utilities, programs, and applications in a transit environment.

• Provide technical support on design and code reviews.

• Act as a self-starter with the ability to lead solution creation and mentor.

• Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.

• Be and have a user-centric mindset and advanced problem-solving skills.

• Experience working and collaborating in agile development teams and across the organization.

• Ability to take initiative and prioritize time in a fast-paced environment working on multiple initiatives.

• Write scalable code for transit applications in C/C++.

• Draft software and application operating procedures.

• Create and review architecture and solution design artifacts and technical specifications.

• Review hardware software requirements for implementation of the product – on premise clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.

• Minimum of 10 years of IT experience with 5 years of application architect experience.

• Minimum of two years as a lead developer.

• Experience with the design and implementation of software hosted and on premise with installation guides.

• Experience with public transportation operations and systems, transit management software and hardware.

• Experience with radio communication systems, protocols, radio hardware and software integration.

• Knowledge of J1708/J1587 and J1939 vehicle communication protocols.

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and/or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $108,000-$140,700.
