Amergis Unemployment Claims Coordinator in Columbia, Maryland

The Unemployment Claims Coordinator provides support to the company in tracking, facilitating and managing all aspects of the unemployment process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Partners with third party claims administrator (Equifax) for all Unemployment processes for the company
Completes Unemployment related requests accurately and timely
Tracks all parts of the Unemployment process by branch office and identifies appropriate actions
Determines, notifies and preps hearing participants
Maintains files and closes cases according to established procedures
Identifies trends and recommends corrective measures
Ensures Compliance with all state and federal regulations in relation to Unemployment
Works closely with branch offices to ensure accurate data is provided for timely responses to state agencies
Provides support and education to local offices in regards to best practices, policies, and recommendations. Escalates concerns appropriately
Manages postal and electronic unemployment mail
Performs other job-related duties as requested
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Two (2) years of experience in Human Resources and/or unemployment processing preferred
Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and great attention to detail required
Ability to multi-task and meet competing priorities and deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, across all levels in the organization
Excellent judgment and discretion handling confidential data
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required
