BECOME A RAMP LEAD!
Our Ramp Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities on the airport ramp to ensure the efficient and safe handling of aircraft and ground services. This role involves coordinating with a team of ramp personnel, handling the loading and unloading of baggage and cargo, and ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures. The Ramp Lead will communicate with flight crews, ground staff, and operations control to facilitate timely aircraft turnarounds.
WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A RAMP LEAD
Guide inbound/outbound aircraft to and from gate without damage or injury
Communicate effectively with flight crews, ground staff, and operations control to ensure timely aircraft turnarounds
Conduct regular inspections of the ramp area and equipment to maintain safety standards
Respond to operational challenges and troubleshoot issues as they arise
Train and mentor ramp staff on best practices and safety protocols
Maintain accurate records of ramp activities and incidents
Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations as required and guidelines, including overseeing the safe and legal operation of airport vehicles, equipment, and personnel involved in airside and landside operations
Safely lift, unload, load and transport baggage, mail and cargo to and from aircraft and airport
Protect baggage and other equipment from damage, loss and weather conditions
Ability to drive and operate heavy ground equipment, such as tugs, cargo carts, service trucks and belt loaders
Assist in record keeping and documentation to ensure correct routing of baggage
Use of personal protective equipment, including hearing protection
Maintain area cleanliness
Execute daily quality control checks on equipment
May be assigned other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
18 years of age or older
Eligible to work in the United States
Minimum of 1 year of experience in ramp operations or a similar role in the aviation industry
Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Proven leadership and team management skills
Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus (unless required, list as required)
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents
Ability to use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
Pass a background check and drug screen
Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operation

Specific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
