BUNZL AP/AR Clerk in Compton, California

Description

John Tillman Company, a division of Bunzl, is seeking an AP/AR Clerk for our office in Compton. The AP/AR Clerk is responsible for supporting the Accounting Department in general payables, receivables, customer billing and payment application, and special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and ensure accurate and timely payment processing from customers.

  • Accounts receivable cash application – ACH, lockbox, wires, and credit card

  • Full cycle AP including entry and payment of purchasing and expense invoices plus review of RNI

  • Gathering back-up for P-Card reconciliations and retrieving portal invoices.

  • Review vendor statements to confirm the accuracy of AP aging

  • Reach out to vendors for missing invoices and verification of ACH payment information

  • Update container landed costs and finalize containers for warehouse receipt

  • Cross-train to back up AR and AP teams

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s degree a plus

  • Strong data entry skills required.

  • ERP knowledge preferred, currently on Sage X3

  • Microsoft Excel experience is a plus.

  • A minimum of two years of accounting experience a plus

  • Knowledge of AR & AP processes preferred.

  • Must have an excellent eye for detail; must have the ability to spot issues quickly and be able to resolve in a timely manner.

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Must also be able to follow directions and work as part of a TEAM

  • Ability to multi-task projects, establish priorities, and organize effectively.

  • Must be detail-orientated and be able to work under pressure

  • Analytical skills to support solving complex transaction processing issues.

Tillman California salary range: $23.00-$25.00 per hour based on experience, education, and geographic location.
