The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Mechanical Services, has a full-time vacancy for an Automotive Technician.
SUMMARY:
Performs skilled diagnostic and repair work on 300+ pieces of diverse NHDOT fleet equipment including passenger cars, trucks up to 1 ton, hydraulic spreaders, message boards, crash attenuator trailers, and all related items in the Passenger Car Unit, Bureau of Mechanical Services, and ensures proper working condition, safe highway use, and prevention of costly repairs and downtime.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent and possession of an Associate's degree in automotive mechanics from a recognized college or technical school.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience as an automotive technician in a large commercial or highway garage or automobile dealership repairing/servicing motor vehicles and related equipment, including light to medium duty trucks. Two additional years of approved work experience may be substituted for the Associate's degree.
