Conway Medical Center Scheduling Specialist in Conway, South Carolina

Position Summary: The Scheduling Specialist (SS) is responsible for daily scheduling functions of patients for Diabetes Self-Management Training, Medical Nutrition Therapy, and Telehealth Medicine. The SS is responsible for interacting with patientsand providers to gather information and will be responsible for scheduling appointments and appointments associated with referrals.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two (2) years previous experience working in an office environment preferred.
  • Previous experience working in Customer Experience required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year previous experience front desk operations in a physicians office and/or experience in patientregistration in an acute care facility preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • None

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include updating patient demographic files, assures accurate information is entered in Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and maintains recall list.
  • Provide phone call management and answer multiple incoming telephone lines, screen and transfer calls, answer various questions, and obtain the necessary information to properly assist our callers.
  • Schedule medical appointments associated with referrals, and book patient appointments within parameters of our physician scheduling templates, availability and preferences.
  • Will on occasion complete other duties as assigned beyond those designated in this primary job description.
  • Provide exemplary core customer service.

  • Effectively utilize strong organizational skills.
  • Consistently display effective verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
  • Regularly exercise independent judgment.
