Job Summary

Cyclone Lighting, a brand within the Acuity Brands Lighting and Controls portfolio, was founded in 1999 and designs, develops, and manufactures outdoor luminaires and accessories in its production facility located north of Montreal. From its inception, Cyclone has followed a philosophy that excels in quality, performance, and durability. Cyclone Lighting continues in this direction by providing superior quality luminaires and decorative outdoor accessories and focusing on key product strengths: photometric performance, tool-free maintenance, and a broad range of luminaire styles. Under the supervision of the Sales Director, the US Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for developing and implementing with the Acuity direct sales team in the US states of: WA-OR-CA-HI-AK-NV-AZ-NM-TX-UT-LA-MS-TN-PA-AL-GA-TN-FL-SC-NC-VA both the short and long-term sales plans of Cyclone that targets the markets: cities, engineering consultants, landscape architects, contractors, and electrical distributors. You will collaborate primarily with Direct Sales Representatives as well as Acuity agents, promoting Cyclone and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Educate Direct Sales Representatives and Acuity Agency on the brand proposition and product features and benefits.

  • Meet with prospective end users to understand the scope of their requirements and make appropriate recommendations.

  • Monitor lighting projects involving Cyclone products.

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve the company's sales objectives.

  • Collaborate with Regional Sales VPs to establish sales budgets by territory.

  • Ensure that Cyclone products are recommended on the plans and in the construction specifications during calls for tender.

  • Support the direct sales team in efforts to incorporate Cyclone products into city standards.

  • Represent the company at trade shows to promote the products.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or equivalent years of experience.

  • Between 7 to 10 years of similar experience in lighting management (with progression), budget development, and supervision.

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com software is an asset.

  • Effective communication and collaborative work within a matrix organization.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, efficiently identify and handle a variety of objects, and stand for extended periods of time.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel across the US approximately 10-15 workdays per month, not including quarterly meetings at the Terrebonne (Quebec, Canada) plant.

The range for this position is $59,700.00 to $134,100.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
