System One Machinist Rebuild Technician in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania

Machinist Rebuild Technician Objective

We are seeking a skilled Machinist Rebuild Technician to operate, maintain, and repair CNC machinery while producing, repairing, and testing precision parts and instruments. This role combines expertise in CNC operation with mechanical rebuilding skills to maintain and repair both mechanical and CNC-controlled components while ensuring all work meets established quality standards and specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to manufacture and repair precision components

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements

  • Perform complete rebuilds of CNC machines, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems

  • Calculate and configure machine controls for proper speed, feed rates, coolant flow, and cutting parameters

  • Measure, mark, and verify dimensions using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment

  • Select and install appropriate fixtures, cutting tools, and accessories for machining operations

  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and make necessary adjustments

  • Test products for structural integrity, including leak testing and checking for internal defects

  • Calibrate and maintain testing instruments according to specifications

  • Perform quality control checks and document inspection results

  • Analyze defective parts to determine cause of failure and recommend improvements

  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve technical issues

  • Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machinery and equipment

  • Document all work performed and maintain accurate records

    Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Demonstrated knowledge of CNC operation and common controls

  • Strong knowledge of industrial machines and mechanical systems

  • Proficient understanding of shop mathematics and metal properties

  • Hands-on CNC machining experience

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

  • Experience with precision measurement tools and inspection equipment

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and quality control

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and engineers

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Physical ability to:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds

  • Stand for extended periods

  • Maintain close and distance vision with depth perception

  • Work safely around moving machinery

  • Must be comfortable working in an industrial environment with varying noise levels

  • Commitment to ethical conduct and safety procedures
