Description
Our client is seeking a licensed attorney to join their growing team based in Dallas, TX. This is a permanent position and we are looking for a dedicated Attorney based in Dallas, with at least 5 years of insurance defense experience to work on a remote basis. In this role, you will be expected to represent clients in court, present evidence, handle first-party coverage claims, and provide legal advice among other responsibilities. Responsibilities:
• Represent clients in court or before government agencies ensuring their interests are well presented
• Evidence presentation in civil litigation cases
• Manage first-party coverage claims for property damage
• Defend Chapter 541/542 claims ensuring all legal aspects are covered
• Engage in the selection of jurors, arguing motions, meeting with judges, and questioning witnesses during a trial
• Study and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations to provide accurate advice for individuals and businesses
• Prepare and present cases to judges and juries ensuring all key points are well articulated
• Draft legal briefs and opinions, and file appeals in state and federal courts of appeal
• Analyze probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents to guide decisions
• Examine legal data to determine the advisability of defending a lawsuit
• Advise clients on business transactions, claim liability, advisability of defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations
• Gather evidence to formulate defense, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case
• Negotiate settlements of civil disputes ensuring the best outcome for clients
• Supervise legal assistants ensuring all tasks are carried out effectively and in a timely manner
• Perform administrative functions as necessary related to the practice of law.
Requirements
• Licensed attorney in good standing with the Sate bar of Texas.
• Proficiency in using legal software for document management and research
• Experience with management systems and their application in a legal context
• Capability to prepare briefings and present them to legal teams or clients
• Experience in insurance defense litigation and understanding of its nuances
• Experience in litigation defense, including strategizing and executing defense plans
• Ability to prepare and present motions in court
• Strong legal knowledge and understanding of laws applicable to the role
