Job Description: ROLE OVERVIEW: Manages the activities of teams associated with manufacturing, engineering, and production in a manufacturing complex including: Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Production Operations, Manufacturing Repair and Maintenance Operations, Manufacturing Production Planning and Control, Quality, Environmental Health and Safety.
Key Responsibilities: Manage multiple teams. Responsibilities typically include ownership of short to mid-term execution of functional strategy and operational management. This brand new state-of-the-art plant primarily makes triple wall sheets and jumbo boxes and has capabilities that include inline gluing and stitching. These products serve the industrial and agricultural industries. * Continuous optimization of large complex plant or multiple plant's performance by implementing lean manufacturing concepts, techniques, and processes. * Effectively implements new performance management systems, production plans and performance criteria; confirms production progress; responds to delays; takes corrective actions; records KPI performance. * Creates and implements improvement plans for the overall operation. * Ensures team understands roles and responsibilities as it relates to the team and Greif. * Encourages joint problem-solving and individual development. * Supports Greif mission, follows values of Greif, and works to better Greifs business as a whole. * Manages and maintains safety observances, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits. * Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy, staffs, trains, coaches, recommends salary increases, administers discipline, ensures positive colleague relations, and reviews the performance of colleagues. * Forecasts future production and facility needs and participates in the establishment of strategic business and project goals. * Contributes in annual budget preparation. Controls expenditures in accordance with budget. * Maintain close connection and contact with other departments. * May be responsible for more than one plant. * Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience * Typically possesses a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 10 or more years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and Skills * Knowledge of the plant's operation. * Demonstrated leadership skills. * Strong ability in problem-solving and multi-tasking. * Computer skills. * Solid interpersonal skills. * Organization skills.
