Divisional Reliability Engineer

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is seeking a Divisional Reliability Engineer to help direct facility efforts for continuous improvement in the performance of internal assets and systems . They will p rovide assistance and guidance to facility management in the areas of systemic continuous improvement, process and cost control, and safety performance . Their goal is to reduce equipment downtime and maintenance cost through application of total productive maintenance concepts; o verall gains are expected in the areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with Corporate Engineering Excellence resources and plant reliability teams to establish , promote, and implement equipme nt reliability strategy and best practices.

• Lead development and deployment of Divisional Reliability strategies and projects, driving the highest reasonable efficiency at the lowest possible cost encompassing Material, Efficiency, and People categories.

• Lead cross-functional and cross-divisional teams across similar platforms to standardize maintenance to reliability practices transition and efficiency improvement.

• Champion and influence transition of time & meter-based maintenance activity to measurement-based activity, including the use of Predictive Maintenance ( PdM ) tools in order to influence part and labor utilization .

• Support visioning, development, and deployment of a transition plan from a maintenance-based organization to a reliability focused organization.

• Develop Divisional Strategic plan for ensuring optimal reliability with automation growth.

• Support development of plant engineering leadership in business and financial acumen competencies impacted by Reliability activity.

• Provide direction, leadership, coaching and development for plant level reliability support staff.

• Drive positive change through curiosity, data-driven decisions, relationship building, and implementation of innovative solutions.

• Lead refinement in maintenance labor through improvements in equipment reliability , training and efficient work practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (2 or 4 year)

• 2+ years’ experience in a Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Manager, or Plant Engineer role

• Must have proven communication skills and be able to influence others at all levels of the organization

• Must be able to work independently, build relationships, and drive results

Preferences

• Prior experience at a plant level involved with energy and reliability activities with proven results

• Ability to serve as a role model and leader in Reliability efforts at all levels in the organization

• Knowledge of various manufacturing-related processes and equipment

• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems

• Ability to assess skills and development needs of sites and individuals
