WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, set up and operate automated vision inspection machines, baggers and locking /closing machines to ensure product conformance and maximize productivity.
  • Operate, and train operators on automated inspection machines
  • Help maintain the Torque out testing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, set up and operate packaging and bagging machines as well as within a system integrated to vision inspection machine.
  • Work directly with Vendors to maximize through put and machine up time.
  • Communicates with multiple levels of personnel and Vendors. Verbal and written communication skills are essential such as emails, handwritten notes, voice mail, procedures. Communicates to operators on all shifts.
  • Provide training and support to automated inspection operators.
  • Handle software upgrades and modifications to machines as well as making software adjustments and adding parts to the machines.
  • Handle majority of the preventive maintenance to vision inspection machines and baggers.
  • Responsible for spare part inventory.
  • Use product and machine knowledge to resolve customer complaints in addition to increasing and optimizing machine capability.
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement activities.
  • Read and understand product prints and catalog information.
  • Utilize micrometer, caliper and optical comparator to verify product and product inspection.
  • Utilizes computer program to view product print.
  • Prints box and bag labels for product.
  • Operates weighing scale to determine weight per thousand or average piece weight.
  • Loads automated inspection machines, unwrap skids and moves product to the next operation.
  • Optimizes bowl and in-line feeder settings to maximize productivity.
  • Utilizes power jack and manual jack to move product to proper location.
  • Utilizes software program to assist in production management and prioritization.
  • Read and understand written work instructions.
  • Completes router and Non-Conformance Report, as needed.
  • Logs on and off time recording system properly.
  • Participates in team meetings and works well with team members.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement activities to assist team in meeting Visual Factory Management (VFM) goals related to quality, cost, delivery, safety and morale (QCDSM).
  • Keeps work area organized and clean at all times.
  • Observes all safety regulations in all duties.
  • Performs other duties as required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Mechanical Ability. 
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues in automated systems.
  • Associate of Science in Engineering Technology (Preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift approximately 40 lbs.  
  • Must be able to stand approximately 12 hrs. a day. 
  • Able to bend, twis , and squat in sometimes awkward positions for prolonged periods of time while exerting force (pushing or pulling). 
  • Visual acuity for detailed work. 
  • Manual dexterity.
