Civil Superintendent A.M. Rizzo Electrical Contractors, Inc. seeks a Civil Superintendent in a full-time position. The Civil Superintendent oversees the day-to-day field operations of electrical projects. They ensure quality work that adheres to standards set forth in the project contract documents, performing the work in a timely and cost-effective manner, and a safe, clean work environment. As the face of the company, they establish a professional work environment that includes: fostering a positive atmosphere, promoting effective communication, facilitating problem-solving, and resolving conflicts constructively. The primary role of the Civil Superintendent is to manage all aspects of the project from initiation to completion, ensuring that work is completed to high standards of quality, on time, and within budget. *Responsibilities Include: *

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Contract, Subcontracts, drawings, and specifications, assisting in the development of on-site procedures alongside the Project Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Scheduler to develop and refine project schedules, ensuring that the schedules are properly updated to meet required dates.
  • Plan and review quality control procedures, safety practices, field office location and layout, temporary utilities, equipment, and manpower with the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate, direct, monitor, and inspect the activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and labor and materials.
  • Provide leadership and foster positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and fellow employees to promote project morale.
  • Ensure each Subcontractor possesses a Certificate of Insurance, a fully executed Subcontract, Schedule of Values, and Safety Program.
  • Verify all necessary permits and licenses are obtained and maintain a bulletin board for posting required safety notices.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Understanding of project cost analysis
  • OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • DOT experience is a plus
