Aircraft Software Engineer Software Engineer, Senior Wright Patterson Air Force Base Dayton, OH HX5 is an award-winning provider of engineering, research and development, and technical services to clients such as NASA and the Department of Defense. HX5 is currently seeking a Software Engineer supporting the T-7 Aircraft for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Training Division at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Understand DoD, AF, and common engineering principles, processes, and procedures to support existing/future AF and joint-service aircraft Translate user requirements into design, development, fabrication, test and evaluation of weapon systems and equipment for fielding and deployment Demonstrate knowledge of software engineering to support the design, development, testing and evaluation, implementation, maintenance, and administration of new and/or existing software systems Apply an understanding of systems acquisition, hardware/software integration, requirements analysis, computer systems architecture, and system testing and evaluation Apply extensive knowledge of software assurance practices and tools including: architecture and design analysis tools, origin analyzers, source code weakness analyzers and binary analyzers. Support the development of software development strategy and Software Development Plans (SDP). Apply an understanding of aeronautical vehicle systems, avionics systems, and/or related ground systems to support engineering tasks related to software engineering Education and Experience: Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoD OR ... ABET Accredited Bachelor's Degree in a related field and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) of which must be in the DoD Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours. Other Position Requirements: Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position. Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation. Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire. Must be able to travel, including air travel.
