Position Description:

CGI Federal is looking to hire Software Developers to support one of our clients in Dayton, OH. The ideal candidate would not only be technically competent, but have a desire to join a winning team that provides exceptional customer support.

This position can be located remotely anywhere in the U.S.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Develop software using the COBOL programming language.

• Develop IBM’s Job Control Language (JCL).

• Develop software for the Air Force suite of financial systems including General Accounting and Finance System (GAFS).

• Develop, design, and test artifacts to resolve bugs and provide technical solutions for software change requests.

• Perform coding, unit test, and continuous integration of software components.

• Participate in System Requirements Reviews, Joint Application Design sessions, Peer Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, and Test Readiness Reviews.

• Support maintenance of system documentation and software code baselines.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

• 5 years’ experience in software development

• Strong experience in COBOL programming language

• Strong Experience in IBM’s Job Control Language (JCL)

• Possess CompTIA CASP certification, or be able to obtain it within three months of start date

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

• Experience in various Cobol variants that will execute on an IBM’s z/OS mainframe environment.

• Experience in Job Scheduling products such as BMC’s Control-M

• Experience in Document Management products such as Broadcom’s CA-Dispatch or BMC’s Control-D

• Experience working with relational database products such as Broadcom’s CA-Datacom or IBM’s DB2

• Specific experience in requirements, design, coding, continuous Integration, and testing of Core Financial applications

• Experience with USAF or DoD application development

• Familiarity with accounting principles

• Experience working with agile software development

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $76,300.00 - $168,900.00.
