HVAC Technician - Decatur, IL

This position is non-exempt

Job Summary

Our company is seeking an experienced HVAC technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various heating and cooling systems for R&D Decatur facility. As an HVAC technician, you should possess strong technical skills and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

HVAC Technician responsibilities

  • Conducting routine maintenance on heating and cooling systems.

  • Diagnosing and repairing malfunctioning equipment, such as refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, vav units, ice machines, chiller systems and Aaon units.

  • Performing installations of new heating and cooling systems.

  • Maintaining accurate records of equipment repairs and maintenance.

  • Troubleshooting issues with electrical and mechanical components of HVAC systems.

  • Collaborating with team members and management.

  • Adhering to safety procedures and guidelines being a top priority.

  • Timely completion of work orders.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed HVAC technician with a minimum of 5 years of experience and EPA certified.

  • Knowledge of heating and cooling systems, including refrigeration systems, air conditioning units.

  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical components of HVAC systems

  • Ability to work independently and within a team. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Must be physically fit and able to lift at least 50 pounds

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as needed

  • Willingness to continue education and training to stay current with industry developments and advancements.
